Tuning Solid-State Emission of 9-Anthraldehyde through Cocrystal Engineering

نویسندگان

چکیده

The regulation of solid-state emission based on cocrystal engineering is an emerging strategy for developing next-generation luminescent materials. Here, three cocrystals (AA-DITFB, AA-TFTPA and AA-TCNB) 9-anthraldehyde (9-AA) are reported, which exhibit a broad range green-to-red emission. Tuning the photophysical properties 9-AA via different mechanisms. Compared with single-component crystals, difference in AA-DITFB originates from π–π interaction between chromophores. As AA-TCNB, its prominent red-shifted result charge-transfer interaction, confirmed by infrared spectroscopy, “hole-electron” analysis spectroscopy. This work not only reveals relationship molecular structure fluorescent properties, but also proposes to develop multicolor systems tunable efficiency lifetime.

Formation of Cocrystal Nanorods by Solid-State Reaction of Tetracyanobenzene in 9-Methylanthracene Molecular Crystal Nanorods

The reaction of single-component molecular crystal nanorods with a second species to form cocrystal nanorods is described. Single-component crystalline nanorods, composed of 9-methylanthracene (9-MA), are grown in a porous anodic aluminum oxide template. These templated rods are then exposed to a suspension of 1,2,4,5-tetracyanobenzene (TCNB) in water, which slowly diffuses into the 9-MA rods o...

Cocrystal dissociation and molecular demixing in the solid state.

A new cocrystal containing caffeine and theophylline was found to dissociate on heating, with caffeine and theophylline molecules spontaneously demixing and recrystallizing as separate phases, in a solid-solid transition likely driven by an increase in entropy. The morphology and composition of the resulting crystals was determined by transmission electron microscopy.

Ag(9) quantum cluster through a solid-state route.

A silver cluster having the composition Ag(9)(H(2)MSA)(7) (H(2)MSA = mercaptosuccinic acid) was synthesized in macroscopic quantities using a solid-state route. The clusters were purified by PAGE and characterized by UV-vis, FTIR, luminescence, and NMR spectroscopy, TEM, XPS, XRD, TG, SEM/EDAX, elemental analysis, and ESI MS. The solid-state route provides nearly pure Ag(9) clusters, and nanopa...

Tuning excited-state-intramolecular-proton-transfer (ESIPT) process and emission by cocrystal formation: a combined experimental and theoretical study.

The formation of two-component molecular cocrystals can lead to the tunable excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) process and emission, as first confirmed by both experimental and computational studies.

Exploring the salt–cocrystal continuum with solid-state NMR using natural-abundance samples: implications for crystal engineering

There has been significant recent interest in differentiating multicomponent solid forms, such as salts and cocrystals, and, where appropriate, in determining the position of the proton in the X-H⋯A-YX-⋯H-A+-Y continuum in these systems, owing to the direct relationship of this property to the clinical, regulatory and legal requirements for an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). In the pres...
